Dunshaughlin 1-8 O Mahonys 0-10

Dunshaughlin came away from Paddy O Brien Park on Friday evening with a valuable pair of points after a hard earned win over Navan O Mahonys. The visitors were quickest out of the traps and by the 12th minute had built up a 1-3 to 0-1 lead. Cian Gallogly opened the scoring with a pointed free following a foul on Ben Duggan and Tadhg O Dúshláine and Tommy Kinsella added two more before Tommy Johnson finished a sweeping move to the net. But if the first quarter belonged to Dunshaughlin O Mahonys dominated the remainder of the half and five unanswered points left the sides all square at half time. The second half witnessed a titanic struggle for supremacy and the sides remained all square during much of the half as O Mahonys first edged ahead and then Dunshaughlin got their noses in front. An excellent save by Andrew Smith prevented an O Mahony’s goal before subs Shane Gallogly and Adam Kealy added strength to the attack and points in the closing stages from Tadhg and Tommy Kinsella saw the Black and Ambers record their third successive win in the League. This was a determined performance featuring a high work rate from the whole team. Niall Murphy was in commanding form at full back, while Caoimhín King controlled the centre, with Ray Maloney and David Dunne pushing forward at every opportunity. Ronan Geraghty and Tommy Kinsella were exceptional in the first half while Tadhg O Dushláine and Tommy Kinsella gave outstanding displays in attack.
