B League, Division 5
Ballinabrackey 0-16 Dunshaughlin 1-10
Dunshaughlin made a first visit in many years to Ballinabrackey on Tuesday night in Division 5 of the B league. The black and ambers took a while to settle in the first half as the home side raced into a 0-9 to 0-1 lead when every effort seemed to find its target. In the final quarter Dunshaughlin had the measure of their opponents confining them to a point as four points from Tommy Kinsella and one from James Rattigan reduced the deficit to four at half time. An equally slow start to the second half proved costly and despite a late goal from Shane Claire the home side held on for a win. Great credit is due to all the players who made the long journey to the Offaly border, many of whom had played last night and to team mentors Paul Sheehy and Kevin Kealy for getting a team on the field at a time when many are exam tied. Mark Galvin; Darragh Quinn, Kenny McTigue (0-1), Cillian Dennehy; Paul O Connell, Ger Geoghegan, Ciarán Hoary (0-1); Paul Gilsenan (0-1), Pádraig Clinton (0-1); Shane Claire (1-0), Tommy Kinsella (0-4), James Rattigan (0-2); Eoin Farrelly, Seamus Doyle, Evan Ryan.
