Dunshaughlin V Summerhill

Summerhill 4-28

Dunshaughlin 1-10

This Junior Championship clash was a game of two halves, the first and the second, and both belonged to Summerhill. Played in Moynalvey in decent conditions Summerhill raced into an early lead and never looked back. They were far superior in many areas on the field and took some excellent scores. Trevor Dowd and Cian Gallogly were bright up front for the black and ambers. Dowd, was like Trevor Giles, popping excellent passes into the full forward line for the full hour. Stephen ‘Garfield’ Ward had a solid game too and won plenty of possession. Ward’s appetite for the game is back and it’s fantastic to see.

Cian Gallogly’s goal was the highlight for Dunshaughlin. The young forward won possession, turned his man and blasted to the net. Martin Reilly patrolled the sideline for Dunshaughlin. He didn’t tog out to play due to a minor knock picked up in the previous round.

Quick Jack Hetherington had another good outing for Dunshaughlin. His pace is frightening and he caused Summerhill problems. The Dancing Plumber Kenny McTigue was dizzy by the end of the game. At one stage he thought Summerhill had 19 players on the field.

Dunshaughlin are destined for Junior B next year where they will have a chance of competing and challenging again.
