U15 League Division 1 V Ratoath

U15 League Division 1

Ratoath had 1-1 scored before the Dunshaughlin lads woke up in the early morning start. Dunshaughlin were missing quite a few key players and still could have won the game, but a combination of missed chances, bad decision making at key times and defence lapses ensured Ratoath came out on top.

After the bad start, Dunshaughlin settled and playing with the aid of a stiff breeze were leading 3-5 to 1-3 with less than 5 minutes to go to half time. But Ratoath forced a turnover on their own 20 meter line and broke down the field to score a very important goal, cutting Dunshaughlin’s half time lead to 5 points.

Ratoath came out with confidence in the 2nd half and scored a goal early on and by the 8th minute had levelled with another goal leaving the score 4-4 to 3-7.  In the following  15 minutes Dunshaughlin conceded another three goals and only managed three points but in the process squandered many scoring chances.

A win for Dunshaughlin against Navan O’ Mahonys in their final league game at home on Sunday November 4th at 11am will clinch a semi-final spot.
