Correspondence

A wide range of correspondence was received since the last meeting including an updated Safety Statement to be discussed at a later meeting; a County Board report on Referee Participation; reminders from County Board that players must be registered in the New Year prior to training or playing as otherwise they are not insured; adult men and juvenile boys teams must be affiliated by Friday, 7th December; all clubs with ladies’ teams will be levied an additional €250 to cover Public Liability Insurance; Transfers Out: Michael Ahern to Naomh Olaf, Dublin, Keith Rooney to Dunsany; Thank you letter from Glanmire GAA Cork for permission to use our grounds en route to All Ireland ladies’ intermediate semi-final in Tyrone; Scór Tráth na gCeist, Question Time on 19th January in O Mahonys Clubhouse, Navan, teams of four at Under 17 and Over 17-Adult level; Updates on Data Protection from Croke Park.

 

Votes of Sympathy:

Votes of sympathy with Pat and Mary Kelly and family, Pelletstown, Drumree on the death of their daughter Alison. Pat was formerly Chairman of St. Martins and Mary was involved in establishing ladies’ football in the parish. Sympathy with the family of Sheamus Whelen, Wexford, former Chairman of Leinster Council and the Dunne family on the death of on the death of Moss Guiney, Audrey’s father and grandfather of Harry and Pierce..

AGM Review & Positions on Executive Committee

  • It was agreed that an open forum be held in the New Year at juvenile and other levels to brief mentors and get feedback and ideas from them on issues and solutions at each level.
  • Conor Murphy agreed to act as Insurance Officer for 2019.
  • Club needs to appoint an Oifigeach na Gaeilge and a Children’s officer.

 

Membership

  • Clubforce who run the online membership system are in the process of rectifying the set-up for 2019.
  • It was emphasized that all players must be paid up members while team mentors at all levels must also be paid up members and be Garda Vetted
  • It was agreed that young players registering should be made aware that if they were not resident in the parish they will not be eligible to play with the club. Meath CCCC emphasized this the last time the club sought permission for a player from just outside the parish boundaries to play with Dunshaughlin.
  • All those paying their membership need to fill in a registration form for GDPR purposes.

 

Funding & Finance

The Treasurer circulated a written report on the current financial position, one month after the AGM

  • Income is €11,476 and expenditure is €17,157
  • Lottery payout and admin is €11,000 following the recent Lotto win.
  • Loan rescheduling with the bank has not been finalized yet.
  • Sales of National Club Draw tickets to take place on Saturday. Members are asked to meet at the clubhouse at 1.30 to visit houses in the area.
  • It was agreed to circulate Royal House Draw details with the Club Draw tickets and some information on the club for new and existing residents.
  • The club will benefit by about €3,500 from the sale of the Royal House Draw tickets. The club will get 25% of any future tickets sold as we have now exceeded 100 sales. A ticket of €250 is worth over €60 to be club and members were urged to sell them. The first draw is on 29th December.

 

 

Goalmouth Repairs

  • It was agreed that Hugh McCarthy will carry out goalmouth repairs on the new pitch.

 

Clubhouse: Upstairs

  • Documentation received from ORS consultants re steps to be taken to apply for revised Fire certs and disability access cert for the upstairs.
  • Sub committee to meet with ORS to discuss same.

 

PRO & Communication Committee

  • Work is ongoing on updating the club website and changing over to a single Facebook page.
  • It is hoped to officially launch the new club crest in February.
  • Underage presentation to be discussed at tomorrow’s Juvenile committee meeting.

 

Ladies’ Report:

  • County Convention did not agree to a proposal to expand the senior championship so the adult ladies’ team will play in the intermediate championship for 2019.
  • A manager has to be appointed.
