Dunshaughlin Gaa and Royal Gaels Lgfa are hosting the Feile Peile 2018 over the weekend from 29th June to 1st July.
The Girls U14’s will host St Mochua Derrynoose from Armagh and the boys U14 team will host Strokestown from Roscommon and are looking forward to hosting both teams and creating new friends and lasting memories.
It goes back to 1998 the last time
Meath hosted a Feile so there will be plenty of excitement around our town of Dunshaughlin and all over the County. *******************************************************************

17th June –
The u12 Div 1 final brought our girls face to face with near neighbours Ratoath on Sunday. Having watched their buddies on the Div 6 team take victory, the girls warmed up determined to match their achievement. Captain for the day Eileen Gannon won the toss and elected to play with the wind.
The U12 Div 1 team completed their preparations for their final on Sunday on Friday evening. After a final training session, the girls were presented with new jerseys sponsored by Linda Gorman Moyles on behalf of Quintillion Ltd to mark their achievement. Royal Gaels chairman Gerry Reynolds accepted the jerseys on behalf of the girls,and thanked Linda for the very generous sponsorship. In presenting the jerseys Linda noted that they were “delighted to mark the players fantastic achievement in reaching the final” and encouraged the girls to enjoy the occasion. She also kindly volunteered to don her chefs hat at the post match BBQ!!!! The players and mentors would like to thank Linda and Quintillion for their support.

Under 12 Division 6 Semi-Final v Walterstown Match Report It was a warm and sunny Friday evening as the squad of enthusiastic girls lined out against Walterstown at home to a great crowd of supporters which created a great atmosphere and sense of anticipation. A fast paced game with great evidence of developing skills from both sides.
Our u12 Div 1 team travelled to St. Colmcilles yesterday evening for their league semi final. With Caoimhe McCool as captain for the day, the girls completed their warm up before a big attendance buzzing with anticipation. Cilles had topped the group and were hot favourites but our girls were in no way overawed. ________________________________________________________________
22th May –
Hard luck to our U16 Div 2 girls who lost out to Walterstown in their Semi-final this evening on a scoreline of Walterstown 9-08 to Royal Gaels 5-09. Great effort girls.
The second round of the Championship saw Royal Gaels make 6 changes to the starting team from round 1 but the strength in depth is remarkable and this was a fine performance, eventually, from the Dunshaughln girls.
There was huge disappointment for our Under 14 Division 1 girls this evening as they suffered a narrow defeat to Seneschalstown in their final regulation league game. ________________________________________________________________

The U12 Div 1 spring league came to a conclusion today with a number of games down for decision. For Royal Gaels girls it came down to a winner take all shootout with St. Pats, Stamullen. Maybe it was the throw in time but this one had the feel of the classic Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly movie, High Noon.

This opening round match was hugely entertaining from start to finish. Royal Gaels began strongest in the opening quarter with Eimear Traynor and Niamh Curtin winning the Midfield battle to set up scores for Katelyn Doherty, Ava Foley and Molly McNamara.

With the snow and bad weather behind us all roads led to Skyrne on saturday night for the 1st round of the Div 6 league match on a fabulous sunny evening. For the first time in history Royal Gaels fielded a 3rd Adult Team in an Adult Competition
The bright and sunny conditions of sat were replaced by damp soft underfoot conditions on Wed as the U12 Div 1 team took to the field again in the 3rd round tie versus Navan O’Mahonys.This was a real ding dong battle with both teams attacking with pace. Royal Gaels began well with Anna ” Dean Rock” Duffy and The Gooch McDonagh operating in the full forward line.

A great night of celebration was held in the Blackbush Golf club when the Club acknowledged the great achievements of players and club members alike. At the outset a special award was made to the ever youthful and popular Christy Purcell who celebrated a significant milestone birthday this month.
The compere for the night was Brendan Cummins and the awards were presented by Ferghal Harney, Chairman, Meath LGFA and our own All Ireland winner, Richie Kealy.

The night was rounded off when the prestigious Hall of Fame award was announced and presented to a surprised Paddy O Dwyer. Paddy has served the Black and Amber for fifty years in many roles as player, manager, referee, secretary and chairman. In conjunction with this, Paddy has also served as assistant secretary to the Meath County Board and Leinster Council delegate. He continues to serve on the Club Executive and on Meath County Board. A fully deserved award to a great clubman who has served both club & county with distinction.
Royal Gaels despite making a number of changes to their starting 15 from their round 1 game managed to get past a really tough Ballivor side in round 2. Recent wet weather meant the game was moved to Dunshaughlin
Another great game from our Under 12 Green Team in Dunboyne this morning winning their second league game in style.The team worked really well as a unit throughout, taking an early lead and really utilising every player, passing the ball with precision and pace. Orlaith McEntee started the scoring with a great point early on, followed by a stylish goal from Emily Fairbother who had a superb game.

Speaking at the presentation of the jerseys on Saturday morning, Tony Anderson, Sales Manager for Crown Paints Ireland said that “the company are delighted to be involved at a local level in the LGFA by sponsoring a progressive vibrant club like Royal Gaels”. Tony wished the girls well for the season ahead. Royal Gaels chairman Gerry Reynolds thanked Tony and Crown Paints Ireland for the generous sponsorship and said, ” Normally sponsorship is directed at adult teams, so it is great for the younger girls to receive generous support like this in recognition of their dedication and effort and we greatly appreciate the generosity of Tony and Crown Paints Ireland. Gerry also wished the girls well for the year ahead.
