Under 12 Division 6 Cup Final v Donaghmore Ashbourne Match Report   On the morning of Sunday June 17th, our team drove in to Dunganny with a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation in the air. The girls arrived into the dressing room sporting their cool black and amber wristbands, kindly gifted to them by Mick Summerville. A full squad of 21 girls decked out in their Crown jerseys headed on to the Astro and the game kicked off. A panicky start with a very quick point from Orlaith McEntee to put Royal Gaels ahead. Ashbourne responded with an attempt at goal but [...] (more)

17 Jun | U12 DIV 1 GIRLS LOSE OUT IN SHIELD FINAL

The u12 Div 1 final brought our girls face to face with near neighbours Ratoath on Sunday. Having watched their buddies on the Div 6 team take victory, the girls warmed up determined to match their achievement. Captain for the day Eileen Gannon won the toss and elected to play with the wind. The girls got off to a bright start but were unable to convert a number of chances that were created by the driving runs of Kinga Basinka and Erin Grey. In goals Anna Duffy wasn’t facing much threat on her goals and she was well protected by Keva McTigue and Sarah Duffy [...] (more)

Our u12 Div 1 team travelled to St. Colmcilles yesterday evening for their league semi final. With Caoimhe McCool as captain for the day, the girls completed their warm up before a big attendance buzzing with anticipation. Cilles had topped the group and were hot favourites but our girls were in no way overawed. The tension was soon dissipated by a few Christmas songs in the dressing room… don’t ask!! The Gaels began the game brightly and an early pointed free from Anna Duffy settled them down. As expected they were forced to do a lot of defending and [...] (more)

16 May | Disappointing lose for U14 girls

Under 14 Division 1 – Royal Gaels 3 -06 Seneschalstown 4 -06  There was huge disappointment for our Under 14 Division 1 girls this evening as they suffered a narrow defeat to Seneschalstown in their final regulation league game. The Gaels await results elsewhere to determine the playoff places but progression is now unlikely. Ella Moyles captained the Black & Amber and continued her excellent recent form with two first half goals. Ella and Abby McHugh partnered at midfield for the first time as the home side fielded without Molly O Connor and Leah Sheridan. [...] (more)

13 May | U12 Div 1 girls reach League Semi-Final

The u12 Div 1 spring league came to a conclusion today with a  number of games down for decision. For Royal Gaels girls it came down to a winner take all shootout with St. Pats, Stamullen. Maybe it was the throw in time but this one had the feel of the classic Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly movie, High Noon. Emily Carter captained the team today and was flanked by the silent assasin Eileen Gannon and Holly Galligan, on her return from injury, Behind them Keva McTigue and Sarah Duffy were the town sheiffs, cleaning up anything that threatened the safety of Megan [...] (more)
