With the snow and bad weather behind us all roads led to Skyrne on saturday night for the 1st round of the Div 6  league match on a fabulous sunny evening. Under 14 Division 1 – Full Time Score: Walterstown 0-7 Royal Gaels 3-4 Well done to our Under 14 Division 1 girls who bounced back from an opening day defeat at Skyrne to record a superb away win at Walterstown on Monday evening. Leah Sheridan captained Royal Gaels and won the toss to give the Black & Amber the benefit of a gale force wind for the first half. FULL TIME Royal Gaels 3-01 Don/Ashbourne 1-01 Another great game from our Under 12 Green Team at home this afternoon making it 3 in a row for the girls in the Div 6 Spring League.. Where are you going ?????? The first quarter was tense with Ashbourne taking an early lead, scoring 1-1 without reply. The bright and sunny conditions of sat were replaced by damp soft underfoot conditions on Wed as the U12 Div 1 team took to the field again in the 3rd round tie versus Navan O’Mahonys.This was a real ding dong battle with both teams attacking with pace. Royal Gaels began well with Anna ” Dean Rock” Duffy and The Gooch McDonagh operating in the full forward line. Full Time Result: Dunboyne 4-03 Royal Gaels 6-07 Another great game from our Under 12 Green Team in Dunboyne this morning winning their second league game in style.The team worked really well as a unit throughout, taking an early lead and really utilising every player, passing the ball with precision and pace. Full Time Result Royal Gaels 2-09 Dunboyne  1-02 Apologies for the late match report but I was away on an refresher course at the Marty Morrissey school of GAA reporting. Mighty craic altogether until he took out the sequins and the false tan and wanted to do a bit of dancing. Anyway onto more important issues such as our U12 Div 1 team playing the 2nd league game at home to Dunboyne last sat. Full Time Score Royal Gaels  0-08 Ratoath  6-13 Half Time Score Royal Gaels  0-01 Ratoath  3-06 Due to the rainfall the game had to switch to Dunshaughlin on the Astro. Not the scoreline anybody likes but after a disappointing first half with little to be mentioned but a fine point from Anna Moyles. The girls who are a mixture of U12 and U14 and haven’t played much football together started to gel and finally began to pressurize the opposition and managing to put some points on the scoreboard.
